The autumnal glow | Photoshop Tutorial

Autumn is here and taking/editing pictures the same way you did in summer doesn't feel right anymore. I'll show you the quickest yet effective way to add that autumnal glow to your photos, using Photoshop.
First you need to adjust brightness and colour temperature of your photo. Get it brighter and more red toned. Once you've done that, you can just follow the steps below.

Open two new layers to your project and select two warm colours, one nearly white, the other a light orange. Now use one colour on each layer, painting it roughly. Depending on your picture, you can concentrate the colours in one corner each, use it on certain spots or only use one of them. Just remember, white is going to highlight, resembling  gloomy sunlight, and the orange shade will tint the picture.

After painting, use "Gaussian Blur" on each layer. After that there shouldn't be any visible strokes left. If there are, repeat. ;)

Now your picture is covered in a mist of orangey light. To blend it in properly, simply set both layer modes to "Soft Light". And that's exactly what it looks like now. Your photo is covered in soft, vivid light, looking bright and cozy.

Autumnal Impressions

For me, autumn always marks a new beginning. Maybe that's strange, because spring is supposed to be the one making everything all fresh and new. That's certainly true for nature, but for me, it isn't. I started school in autumn, started working in autumn, dyed my hair a different colour, and so on. Even though these kinds of changes aren't always nice and easy, at times it feels good to start something new. For all I know, you have to work to achieve something valuable.

What's autumn to you?

Cinderella's glass slippers | Nail Art Tutorial

Since the new Cinderella movie was released, I have been obsessed with the pictures of her stunning glass slippers. Even though "comfortable" wouldn't be a suiting description, they are a masterpiece of art to me. All these colourful facets reflecting the light are definitely princess-worthy.

I tried to recreate this beautiful effect on my nails and I think I did quite well. :)
